Protect Your Car Investment, Avoid Excess Fees
A recent concern I’ve heard from people who need to ship a cherished or classic vehicle (bought online), is that their investment is being exposed daily to elements in a driveway and that they are being gouged by unexpected storage fees. Have you considered what problems can occur when you buy a car and have it shipped from the seller’s driveway? Many sellers want to get rid of a car that they just sold. Some get up tight when the car is not picked up on time. That’s when the fees begin.
For example, I recently had a customer who previously bought a mint 56 Thunderbird and then waited helplessly as the car sat in a driveway for two weeks before the trucker picked it up. Remember, to make a living wage, truckers need to fill their trailers fully before hitting the open road. This means cars may wait in driveways. This does not bode well for those who want to receive their car as soon as possible. Sometimes cars are purchased from sellers who provide a few days to move it or they will have it towed. I’ve had two customers tell me that they chose a cheap rate with another shipper, then paid storage fees because the trucker was days late to pick up.
Make it simple for yourself. If you really want to get your car shipped right and avoid storage fees, spend a little extra and go with an expedited or enclosed service.

Very useful information – thanks
I know a thing or two about car shipping excess fees. I wish I saw this sooner. But.. at lest I know now as I’m about to ship another car.
